The first thing to learn about African American hair care is that it is more complex than you would believe.

There is a shelter who helps young men and women get out of homelessness. As this shelter is in Newark, the population of the residents is primarily African American. As you can imagine, these young people have bigger things to worry about than their hair. 

These young people are in need of more diverse hair care products to show up professionally and confidently in order to propel them into a bright future.  I feel very passionate about educating young people about positive, inclusive haircare and I hope that you will join with me in gathering donations to help these young people put their best foot forward in their interviews and future endeavors.

No matter how much we, as a society, are changing, one thing will always remain… beauty sells! These young people need to go on interviews, and looks matter.
